Jade District Visioning
Gauri and Travis were contributing designers to the Jade District Visioning Plan. We facilitated workshops to bring out the community vision and put pen to paper illustrating design concepts. This vision continues to guide community development in the neighborhood.
The plan called out three priority projects: a night market, a community center, and a public park, which led to the development of Orchards of 82nd affordable housing and the inaugural Jade International Night Market.

The engagement process was organized along the cultural and language groups that reside in the Jade: Latino, Chinese, Vietnamese, Russian, and white (non-Russian speaking). During the workshops, the designers were paired with a facilitator as well as a language interpreter.
